Has David Beckham been caught wearing a G-String? Amidst rumours that he wears his wife’s underwear I look at this picture and think two things, Fake and Unlikely. Paving the way for the metrosexual revolution David has done a mighty fine job and I don’t believe he is crossing the line to transvestism and new age “kink”. Amusing is the word that comes to mind here and an interesting promotion if there ever was one.

Mens G-Strings & Thongs

Gone are the days that thong underwear is just for women. Meshing nicely with men’s clothing fashions today, thong underwear is becoming increasingly popular. As Jim Noble, senior vice-president of Jockey International states, “… a male thong, gives a sense of support without confining”. And many men agree, finding that the thong is an excellent alternative to the boxer, brief and the boxer brief underwear styles. Thongs make up approximately 5%-7% of all underwear sales, according to Marshal Cohen, a veteran market research analyst for the NPD group.
Initially thongs designed for the male communities were only seen within the gay population but that has long changed. Heterosexual males now find that thongs hold a vital place in their wardrobe given their clothing styles and desire for comfort. They are unrivaled when it comes to finding the right underwear to wear with their low rise and slim fit jeans. For daily use, men say that thong underwear provides enough support without bunching or pinching like it’s predecessors.
There are four types of thong underwear for men. The G-String, Athletic Supporter, Strapless Pouch and Formal.
The G-String Thong offers a front pouch to hold the genitals but provides no other coverage. The Athletic Supporter Thong has a pouch to hold the genitals along with two securing straps for ultimate protection. The Strapless Pouch Thong, which provides a pouch for the genitals and no straps. And finally, the Formal Thong, much like a traditional thong, with a pouch in the front and a strap that passes between the leg, up the back and meets a strap that surrounds the waist.
Thongs are not recommended for wearing when playing sports or participating in strenuous activities unless you are using an Athletic Supporter, and then at that point, depending on the sport, a jock strap may still is advisable.

About Obviously
Just as the name implies, the Obviously Just for Men Underwear Company is obviously just for men; their name adequately fits their business, from their company motto to their products to their website design. This business has been built around men and the men’s underwear industry, for the modern man, by the modern man.
Obviously Just For Men was established in 2005, in Brisbane, Australia, by two brothers, Robert and Daniel Miljkovic, with the commitment to create distinctive, anatomical underwear for men. They wanted something comfortable, something that was designed for the larger male.
A passionate approach led them down the road to the improvement of existing designs, as well as the creation of new designs in their entirety. Re-branding an old style with new colors just was not acceptable; they honestly wanted to improve upon the products, thus Obviously Just For Men was born.
They began their venture by examining each and every annoying detail of men’s underwear and went about finding solutions for the same until they settled upon a design that everyone would enjoy. Their result was the anatomically styled, uniquely sleek and self-branded “Obviously just for men” line. This line quickly reached markets from Australia to the United States, United Kingdom, Japan and Europe. The new year of 2009, hopes to bring an expansion of styles to include lines for women.
Supporting the broader community, Obviously Just For Men has signed up to sponsor the Prostate Cancer Research Center through the Queensland Cancer Fund, of which they will donate each time a purchase is made from a qualifying line.
