Gone are the days that g-strings and thongs are just for women. Meshing nicely with men’s clothing fashions today, thong underwear is becoming increasingly popular. As Jim Noble, senior vice-president of Jockey International states, “… a male thong, gives a sense of support without confining”. And many men agree, finding that the thong is an excellent alternative to the boxer, brief and the boxer brief underwear styles. Thongs make up approximately 5%-7% of all underwear sales, according to Marshal Cohen, a veteran market research analyst for the NPD group.
Initially thongs designed for the male communities were only seen within the gay population but that has long changed. Heterosexual males now find that thongs hold a vital place in their wardrobe given their clothing styles and desire for comfort. They are unrivaled when it comes to finding the right underwear to wear with their low rise and slim fit jeans. For daily use, men say that a g-string provides enough support without bunching or pinching like it’s predecessors.
There are four types of thong underwear for men. The G-String, Athletic Supporter, Strapless Pouch and Formal.
The G-String offers a front pouch to hold the genitals but provides no other coverage. The Athletic Supporter Thong has a pouch to hold the genitals along with two securing straps for ultimate protection. The Strapless Pouch Thong, which provides a pouch for the genitals and no straps. And finally, the Formal Thong, much like a traditional thong, with a pouch in the front and a strap that passes between the leg, up the back and meets a strap that surrounds the waist.
Thongs are not recommended for wearing when playing sports or participating in strenuous activities unless you are using an Athletic Supporter, and then at that point, depending on the sport, a jock strap may still is advisable.

I started wearing male thongs just to see how they felt and they are so much more comfortable than any other type of underwear and I am not gay or anything but they are way more comfortable

I’ve been wearing thongs every day for years. First stared off as a bet with a mate and ended up really liking how comfortable they were.
Eventually I lost interest in the limited design and styles of the mens range available and ended up trying out a few of the womens varieties (not frilly ones) with quite some surprise.
The majority of womens thongs are just as comfortable but in my own opinion look much better (I’m not a big fan of the front seam in the mens range) but either way I don’t think I’ll ever go back to briefs.
If any guy out there is game to try a thong from the ‘Dark Side’ I would suggest trying the Low Rise G from Ambra.
i am 33 now, i have been wearing thongs, g strings and hipsters (mens) since i was 14 years old, and i love my low rise boot cut jeans right on top of them. but here in america, unless you live in manhattan or miami beach, the idea of metrosexual males is extremely taboo and even the target of discrimination. it is sad in closed minded america, and reality contradicts what this site says unfortunetly. i doubt this will change anytime soon. oh, and i am a heterosexual male.
I’m a straight guy and have worn g-strings for nearly 20 years. Can’t beat them for comfort and support. Don’t know why there’s still so few guys who wear them. I used to be hesitant at letting women find out that I always wear a g-string, but all my girlfriends have liked me wearing them. To start with they’re surprised, yes, but soon find it sexier than if I wore boring boxers.
I have been wearing them for 10 years now, they are so comfortable, don’t drag down with movement and keep your package safe.

I’ve been wearing thongs since about 2006. First bought them when I saw them for sale at Target and Wal-Mart. Have been ordering better types online since 2008. Its usually hot and humid here, and these are just plain comfortable to wear in those conditions.
I am hetero-sexual, 50 years old, and work out every day, so do not look out of place in them. I don’t intentionally show them, but yes, occasionally someone may catch a glimpse if I am stooping to pick something up and my blet is not tight. No one has ever criticized me my choice in underweat, and I would not care if they did.
Try them, you’ll like em.
I have only recently started wearing thongs and I don’t know why I’ve waited so long. I have bought a vast range of different style thongs and g-strings in the last couple of months. It’s nice to wear a different style color or pattern every day. What a turn on. They are the best underwear I have ever worn. None of the thongs or g-strings I have are made of boring old cotton either. I prefer nylon, polyester, lycra, silk, microfiber, satin, etc that’s what makes them feel so good next to the skin. If you’re reading this and never tried wearing thongs or g-strings I highly recommend that you should.
I have worn thongs under my dockers feels very nice like your not wearing anything at all but your well supported. I also like wearing jock straps they are even more comfortable because still feel naked but no strap between your a… Anyway they feel really good and In the hot summer minimalist is the way to go. Beside drives the wife wild.
