Boxers or Briefs?
Sounding like a cliché, yet asking a very legitimate question, is it boxers or briefs? After much research the real question being asked is, “Security or freedom?” and the truth is that the jury is split. It comes down to a simple matter of preference.
Some men prefer the freedom offered by boxer shorts, designed with nonrestrictive, wide leg openings, relying on the elasticity of the fabric itself for support. While other men prefer the feeling of being secured and safely packaged within a pair of snug briefs. Briefs contour to the body better and offer upfront positioning. A fair compromise between boxers and briefs are the ‘boxer briefs’. The marriage between the two styles produces a pair of body contouring, loosely fitted underwear that offers coverage from the waist to the thigh, adorned with a keyhole, snap, pouch or no fly, depending on the style chosen.
Designers have merged the two styles of underwear to create the boxer briefs in attempt to appeal to a broader base of consumer. Typically men that favor the brief style underwear are athletic and live active lifestyles; they prefer this style because the design offers more support with notably less fabric. The design of briefs also changes the way that a man fills out his pants, which is an important part of looking and feeling good for some. Boxers are more known for their comfort, the availability of fabric and color choices, and for keeping unmentionable areas cooler; all of which are the attractions that draw these men to prefer boxers over briefs.
