Ed Hardy clothing began when creator Don Ed Hardy (a lover and extraordinaire when it comes to elaborate tattoo designs) licensed Ku USA, Inc. to produce a line of clothing based on his art in 2002. After 2 years the brand garnered a lot of success within the mens apparel industry and in 2004 Christian Audigier licensed the rights to produce the Ed Hardy clothing line, which is based on Hardy’s tattoo imagery.

About Ed Hardy
Don Ed Hardy attended the San Francisco Art Institute where he graduated with a Bachelors in Fine Arts majoring in printmaking. The elaborate tattoo designs that he is now so well known for began when he studied the art in Japan in 1973 with a classical Japanese tattoo master. His work then became recognised as he incorporated this Asian aesthetic and technique into his American style work.
The Ed Hardy collection is certainly unique and appeals to a younger audience or any aficionado of body art.
